What budget ?

World tour of Thomas, alone and by hitch-hiking, from September 2006 to September 2007.

Budget for a world tour

That's one the main issue, regarding that I'm a student with almost no money.

To begin with, I will try to visit only countries where the life level is low for the French. That way, food shouldn't cost so much for me.

Accomodation is not really a problem, as I shouldn't sleep in hotels. Indeed, I'm leaving with my tent and I will ask for hospitality as often as possible. I will also try, as far as it is possible, to use some networks like the Hospitality Club (Free Accomodation All Over the World) or religious networks.

As I'm hitch-hiking, I will only pay for the flights over the oceans. I will buy my flight ticket by travelling. As I won't be busy at all, I can wait one week to a certain place in order to get a better price for a flight.

Even with all these accomodation - food - transportation savings, I will need money. I will probably take a loan for this world tour. My studies are almost over and I should be able to reimburse it in a couple of years.

I will maybe try also to work in New-Zealand (picking fruits), in order to be able to carry on my adventure.
